Title: Impact Assessment & Landscape Conservation Design: Peninsular Florida Landscape Conservation Cooperative
Client: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC) – 2016
This project develops a spatiotemporal impact assessment for selected species in the central and northern extent of the Peninsular Florida Landscape Conservation Cooperative, followed by management recommendations that include conservation strategies that will be designed and spatially visualized. Participatory workshops were held in order maximize opportunities for stakeholders to identify species that should be closely monitored, validate models, review impacts, and inform the development of adaptive strategies. A landscape conservation design process will be used to characterize species, habitats, and strategic habitat conservation areas that are most at risk in these scenarios. Results are summarized in the form of map atlases, landscape conservation designs, and recommendation documents that specify conservation strategies and decisions. This approach can be incorporated as a management and strategy tool into an adaptable, context-sensitive system for future conservation planning.
