Description | GeoAdaptive Principal Mike Flaxman led a sponsored research studio investigating the interaction between high-speed rail, economic development, and sustainability. Studio focused on developing a framework for assessing sustainable development in a mid-sized Spanish town about to be connected to Madrid by high-speed rail. Components included energy (solar, wind and biofuels), economic development, transportation (high speed rail, highway, pedestrian paths), affordable housing, and landscape (visual and ecological quality, tourism potential).
