Our data management strategy is two-fold, on the one hand we want to streamline our consultancy team’s interaction with acquired data sources and on the other hand we would like to support and motivate the open data initiatives in Latin America. Collaboration and community leads to innovation, therefore while some data will be proprietary DataXLat seeks to create public facing web presence that strives to be a centralize source of data for Latin America.

Data XLat is a research and development initiative that strives to create the technologies and procedures that are necessary to extract, obtain, manage and visualize data from a variety sources that are scattered through out the web but operate in the same territory.
In Latin America, the generation of data occurs across a variety of sectors and ministries, this creates the need for a solution that has the capacity to sort through the navigational, technical and multilingual hurdles that prevent a centralized and harmonized tabular and geospatial database of the region.
